Objectives

• Use the Code of Ethics to analyze and resolve ethical dilemmas
• Apply understanding of the roles and responsibilities of early childhood professionals to situations in early childhood settings;
• Demonstrate perspective taking as well as good communication and language skills;
• Write coherently with effort made to edit for grammar, spelling and punctuation; and
• Apply APA referencing and citation guidelines correctly

Students in groups of  five members will study a given case scenario of a
conflicting issue in an early childhood development center and submit an report that covers the following areas:

• An analysis of the ethical dilemma based on AECES Code of Ethics,  and responsibilities of early childhood professionals. The analysis should also take into consideration the perspectives and conflicting values of different characters in the case scenario.
• A proposed course of action that an early childhood educator can take to resolve the ethical dilemma based on the analysis, with clear rationale given to support the proposal.
