Analyze the impact of international intervention in the conflict-affected context of Northwest Pakistan. In your response, consider the following questions:

• Global organizations such as the UN, OECD, and the World Bank are increasingly calling for an integrated approach to international peacebuilding; one that involves tasks related to security, humanitarian assistance, development, and the strengthening of the rule of law and democratic governance. Recognizing the interdependencies of these goals, they argue that lasting solutions can only be achieved if these tasks are tackled together. Reflecting on the case study above as well as on your learning in the course, do you agree with this approach? Why or why not? Substantiate your argument with concrete examples.
• What are the major differences between the preferences, priorities, and ways of working of international organizations and those of local organizations and communities?
