Introduction
This Project Work (WP) builds on previous modules and requires you to demonstrate all that you have learned over the course of the program. Assessment is in the form of a 2,000 (+/- 10%) word report to be submitted on an individual basis.
Objective
The objective is to provide the student the opportunity to distill their skills and knowledge learned over their program and apply this to real management problems with the aim of being able to formulate practical solutions and business strategies for organizations by undertaking necessary research in their chosen area.
The Project Work report should demonstrate that the student has the ability to carry out research to identify contemporary issues and challenges of their chosen industry and the ability to carry out constructive criticism, as well as to recommend appropriate solutions.

Upon completion of this assignment, students should be able to:

Teaching and Learning Strategies
The teaching and learning strategy are based on a constructivist approach building on the students existing knowledge and experience. Students are exposed to an authentic learning environment gaining experience in solving the same kind of problems that they would encounter in their work environments.
During this period, you will learn to carry out an independent research study by way of identifying current problems and issues within the hospitality and tourism industry and suggesting a solution/s through the appropriate use of research methodologies already studied in your course work.

You are to begin by introducing a specific sector within the hospitality and tourism industry in a country of your choice e.g.
- food & beverage sector or specific departments such as kitchen, bar, stewarding, etc…
- accommodation sector or specific departments such as front office, reservations, concierge, etc…
- transportation industry or specific sectors such as airlines, cruise ships, trains, etc…
- M.I.C.E industry or specific sectors such as meetings, incentive travel, conventions, etc…
- Others include attractions, travel agencies, tour operators, etc…
This research task is to describe and critically evaluate the practices and processes with regards to your chosen areas to the following activities:
- Introduce COVID-19 and identify the current and potential implications/impacts for your chosen sector in a country of your choice
- Propose how your chosen sector should respond to sustain the business for the longer term
- Present your research findings and recommendations in written form.
- Demonstrate the ability to use various resources effectively as a major business and research resource
