Case Study
According to the Singapore Police Force (SPF), the number of scams in recent years has risen drastically, exceeding the number for many types of physical crime, and forming a large proportion of overall crime in Singapore.
This has prompted the SPF to pay special attention to the worrying uptrend in reported scams, including the provision of a detailed breakdown on the ages of scam victims and the types of scams that they fall prey to.
Contrary to popular belief. the SPF reported that residents aged 20 to 39 were most likely to fall prey to scams especially those that offered them an easy online job or irresistibly good shopping deals.
To alleviate the current scam situation in Singapore, the National Crime Prevention Council has launched an anti-scam campaign to educate the public on how they can protect themselves and their loved ones from becoming the next scam victim.
Suppose the Singapore government would like to find out more about scams in Singapore. You are tasked to submit a research proposal that will elaborate on how you can apply relevant concepts and research methods to study the topic. Your proposal should be written as an essay and include the following five parts.
