Relevant Course Objectives:

Assignment Description and Instructions

You are required to interview two (2) social workers who work in an agency providing a social work type service and prepare a report on your findings. Your report should include but not be limited to the following:

• An overview of the agency and the role of the social worker.
• Description of the client population
• Description of the relevant intervention methods of the agency (casework, group work, community organisation etc.)
• Discussions with social workers regarding their practice issues arising including spirituality, diversity and gender. Be sure to highlight the social workers’ own method of practice as influenced by the client’s spirituality, diversity and gender.
• Description of Theory/model used by the worker/organization and how it is relates to the client group.
• Explore the specific cultural values and practices that support or impede interventions. How does the social worker respond to those values and practices?
