There are many drug abusers like Tan who started taking drugs at a young age. A study looking into the prevalence of illicit drug use found that the mean onset for drug consumption was 15.9 years (IMH, 2022). The study also found that 0.7% of the sample had abused drugs in the past
one year (IMH, 2022).

The Singapore government is committed to achieving a drug-free Singapore. The local drugcontrol strategy is not only targeted at reducing both drug supply and demand, but also focused on educating the population (especially the youths) to stay drug free. To support these public education efforts, illustrate using a one-page A4 poster how you would educate youths in Singapore about the harms of drug use and encourage them to stay away from drugs.

The poster you design should be informed by relevant theoretical perspectives on drug addiction and research. Your poster should include the following:
• Focus on the top drugs of concerns in Singapore
• Highlight Singapore’s stand on drug use
• Highlight myths and harms of drugs
• Provide practical suggestions that would encourage youth to stay away from drugs
• Include a strong message for a call to action to not take drugs
