Task 1 (3 marks)

Using appropriate databases, select ONE academic journal article that is relevant to the TMA topic (refer to ‘Part 2a: Essay’ below), and include the following in your post:

• Present the full reference in APA 7 format (including the DOI).
• If the selected article has no assigned DOI, provide the URL link where the full article can be downloaded.

Task 2

Write a short summary of the journal article and explain how it is relevant to the essay topic. DO NOT copy the abstract of the article. Ensure that group members do not post the same journal article.

Task 3

Discuss the summarised articles presented by fellow group members by posting a minimum of TWO responses/comments on at least two different group members’ posts.

Part 2a: Essay

Please answer this section with reference to the following article and guiding parts. Your answer must be structured like an essay. All parts (i, ii, iii) must be addressed, but you do not have to include the letters (i, ii, iii) in your essay.

i. Outline and describe Parkes and Bowlby’s (2006) attachment model of bereavement in your own words.

ii. Discuss the literature on the mental health of caregivers who take care of terminally ill family members, with a focus on articles published within the last 20 years. Your essay must be supported by a minimum of five academic sources. Based on the research you presented, examine the types of protective factors that lead caregivers to have the best outcomes (e.g., emotional, social etc.) during the caregiving period or in the bereavement period if their loved one passes on.

iii. Reflect on the article – how do you feel about the practice described in the article? If you prefer not to talk about the practice in this article, you may reflect on another funeral/death-related practice/custom (e.g., one from your culture, Día de los Muertos in Mexico/Hispanic communities, Swedish death cleaning etc.).

Please provide a short description of that practice first before including your reflections.
