Case Study 1

As a graduate RN in an adult general surgical ward at Curtin Singapore Public Hospital, you have a significant responsibility. Your Ward Manager, having received a six-monthly clinical audit indicating six (6) incidents of urinary retention post-operatively in male patients, has asked you to take the lead. Your task is to assemble a team of Clinical Nurses’ and Registered Nurses to propose a quality improvement project on this subject area.

Your ward manager, having received a six-month clinical audit indicating ten (10) incidents of stage two heel pressure injuries for patients with a fractured hip, has asked you to take the lead. Your task is to assemble a team of Clinical Nurses and Registered Nurses to propose a quality improvement project on this subject area.
