In this assignment, you will develop and present a comprehensive scenario planning exercise that demonstrates your understanding of agile principles and resilience in a business context. (a)  To get started, as a group, select a business context: Choose a specific industry or company and provide a brief overview of the chosen context, including key challenges and opportunities.

Appraise the importance of agile leadership. Identify and analyze at least three key drivers of change that could impact the business context in mid 2026. These drivers could be e.g. technological advancements, regulatory changes, market trends, or socio-economic factors.

Subsequently, create three distinct scenarios (optimistic, pessimistic, and most likely) based on the identified drivers. Each scenario should include a detailed narrative describing the potential future state of the business context, considering the interplay of the key drivers.

For each scenario, analyze the potential impacts on the business, including risks and opportunities.

(b) Appraise the importance of agile leadership for your organization’s long-term success and agility. Explain how an agile mindset can help your chosen business navigate the uncertainties and changes described in your scenarios. Discuss the importance of adaptability, continuous learning, and customer focus in your particular context.

Recommend agile approaches and strategies. Identify and describe at least two agile frameworks (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) that could be applied to manage the business effectively in each scenario. Provide specific examples of how these frameworks can be implemented to enhance agility and responsiveness in your context. Discuss the role of collaboration and effective communication in fostering an agile culture in your business context.

(c) Prioritise the pillars of organisational agility to build resilience. Discuss resilience in your chosen business context and explain its significance in the face of uncertainty and disruption. Discuss how resilience can be built and maintained within the organization and consider all aspects you deem necessary.
