Assessment 3: One Individual Written Assignment

This individual written assignment aims to consolidate the student’s learning by documenting the discussions held during the group discussion and presentation in a scholarly proposal.

Requirements for Written Assignment

Academic Format

The assignment should use 1.5-line spacing and a 12-point reader-friendly font (e.g., Calibri, Times New Roman, Arial).

References and Word Limit

You are required to use a selection of quality publications to support your discussion. A general guideline for the necessary references is one for every 200 words within the word limit. The word limit for the written assignment is 3,600 words (+/- 10%), excluding the cover/title page, contents page, tables, figures, graphs, end-reference list, and appendices.

Using APA Format

The in-text citations and reference list must adhere to the most recent edition of the American Psychological Association Publication Manual (APA 7th edition).

Title: Follow the title of the topic in the evidence summary

Introduction

• Explain the practice issue related to your topic, which includes the definition, incidence, identification of the practice, approach to focus on the practice issue, and data to support the practice issue
• Explain how this practice issue is addressed in the international, regional, and local literature.
• Describe the impact of this practice issue on patients, caregivers, and the health care system.
• Describe the hierarchy of evidence related to the practice issue.
• Review best practice recommendations using the JBI grade of evidence.
• Explain why you accept or reject the evidence.
• State the aim, objectives, and outcomes (process and clinical).

Method

This proposal utilizes an adapted Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI), which includes the following 4 four phases:

Pre-implementation phase

• Engage stakeholders
• Form a team and define roles
• Develop an evidence-based criteria tool
• Determine sample size, data collection methods and procedure
• Conduct baseline audit

Implementation phase

• Evaluate baseline audit result
• Develop GRIP matrix
• Develop and implement change strategies

Post Implementation phase

• Conduct a follow-up (post-implementation) audit
• Compare with baseline results

Sustenance phase

• Determine the timing for the future audit
• Ethical Consideration
• Explain any ethical issues related to your proposal
• Conflict of Interest
• State if there are any conflicts of interest
