Construct an example of Category Management implementation in Singapore. You just need to find one company that implemented Category Management. Explain how the organisation implemented category management. In your answer, you must demonstrate a satisfactory command in written English.

Choose an organisation or a company that you are currently working for or you are familiar with. The organisation can be either in a commercial sector or in the public sector. However, their spending on purchasing should be large enough to have an independent purchasing function within their organisational structure.

For example, if the organisation has a full-time position of ‘purchasing manager’ but his/her duties are not much more than processing paper works and reports to a junior manager, the organisation may not be suitable for the question 1. It is a very good practical practice that you should have some exposure to conduct price analysis. You may refer back to the organisation you chose for Question 2. Choose one item (either good or service) that the organisation has spent a substantial amount of procurement budget on. Analyse the factors have been affecting the price of the item in the past few years.
