Question 1

Identify and briefly describe any THREE (3) responsibilities of the Consultant Quantity Surveyor during each of the following stages of a construction project.

(a) Feasibility and design 

(b) Tender documentation and tender award 

(c) Post contract work 

Question 2

(a) Identify and explain with the help of diagrams the CEMS rules required to be applied to the measurement of oversite excavation and the subsequent disposal of the excavated materials off site.

(b) Interpret Figures Q2.1 and Q2.2 and take-off quantities for the oversite excavation and disposal of excavated materials off site.

Specifications:
1. The existing ground level is at 20.100.
2. All excavated materials shall be disposed off site to an approved tip

Apply measurement techniques and interpret the scope of C & S work with reference to Figures Q3.1 to Q3.3 to prepare a take-off list with associated CEMS clauses and the units of measurement for the following works:

(a) Excavation, concrete and formwork for the pile caps and column stumps including the adjustment of quantities for excavation work.

(b) Reinforcement for pile caps & column stump

(c) Precast reinforced concrete piles.

Question 4

Apply measurement techniques and interpret the scope of C & S work with reference to Figures Q3.1 to Q3.3 to take-off quantities for the following works:
