Scenario
Presently Mr. Lim, 78 years old is admitted to Changi General Hospital and is suffering from colon cancer (stage 3) and bed-ridden. He is currently in diapers. Patricia, the daughter, is currently working part-time as a Cashier at 7 Eleven stores and intends to leave her job to be a full-time caregiver. I observed that patient was feeling sad, depressed and wishes to be discharged from the hospital.
Patricia verbalized that it is harder physically and financially than what she initially thought of, to be the sole caregiver. She finds it will be a hassle arranging transport to take Mr. Lim for frequent medical appointments. She also finds it challenging having to see through his current medical needs and hopes to transfer him to appropriate community care services and facilities for Mr. Lim, and to keep him at ease until passed away in peace.
