The Work of Formal Caring Interview at least 3 non-family carers for people who are at least 65 years old (older is better).

What are the similarities and differences? Who are the workers? (note their age, gender, race, nationality, and social class if you can tell.) If you are going to interview domestic helpers, all three interviews should be with helpers.

If you are going to interview workers in a more formal setting like a home for the aged, or a day center for people with physical challenges, all the interviews should be from similar formal settings.

What can you see of the work routine, and what seems to be hidden from view? What other hidden work could be going on in these establishments? Transcripts of the interviews will be included in the appendix of the essay.
