Personal Nonverbal Behaviours:
Reflect on your own nonverbal behaviours over a period of one week and recognise the importance of nonverbal behaviours in how others perceive you. Present your answers in a one-page report format, clearly listing your personal observations, othersβ opinions about you, analysis, and personal recommendations in point form statements. Specifically, your one-page report should cover:
- Personal Observations & Opinions of Others
Identify the nonverbal behaviours and cues that communicate your identity to the people around you. This must include your appearance, facial expressions, posture, gaze, style and tone of voice. Ask the people around you about how you appear to them and analyse how your nonverbal behaviours may influence othersβ perceptions of you.
- Analysis
Appraise the relevant research to support your observations and othersβ opinions of you. In this analysis, you should analyse yourself as a whole and identify pertinent themes that you and others notice, e.g., self-confidence.
