A local sporting events company, LetsGoSG, is planning to organise a 10km “fat-wheel” bicycle race at Pulau Ubin. Capitalising on the holiday atmosphere, they plan to hold the event, the 10K Ubin Peloton, on New Year’s Eve, and the flag-off will be graced by the Member of Parliament for Pulau Ubin at 10 am.

Since it is an inaugural event on Pulau Ubin, the organisers expect that participation from both racers and spectators to be overwhelmingly positive. Organisers anticipate that the sale of the race tickets, transportation to the island, as well as the sale of souvenirs and refreshments to bring in more than $1 million in revenue for LetsGoSG, and they plan to donate 20% of the profits to support the beautification and conservation efforts of Pulau Ubin.
