You are a security manager with an international organization. This organization is based in Kuala Lumpur; Bangkok; Phnom Penh, Manila or Jakarta. The organization has about 400 staff, consultants, and contractors plus about 200 people per day visiting the organization. It is in the city center in a stand-alone facility on the corner of a major intersection.

Due to the projects, the company is involved in, there are protests against the organization from time to time. A key element of the security function is stakeholder engagement. As such you will prepare an introduction to stakeholder engagement for your security management team and associates.

• Describe the importance of stakeholder engagement. Include a definition in your own words of stakeholder engagement.
• Explain internal stakeholders. Who comprises this group? Discuss five examples of mechanisms for engagement with internal stakeholders.
• Evaluate the need for internal stakeholder engagement as it would pertain to the security master plan. Identify and discuss five ways in which this engagement benefit development of the security plan.
• Develop an external stakeholder engagement plan. This should include a discussion on the need for external stakeholders, prioritizing your external stakeholders, and how you will engage with them. Provide at least 5 engagement mechanisms.
