Introduction:

In order to demonstrate your skills in communication and collaboration, you will create a portfolio showcasing your personal and professional skills.

The portfolio will help refine your ability to propagate your ideas and knowledge to a diverse range of audiences, from technically inclined specialists to generalised layman terms.

You should refer to scenarios and examples from the essential reading; “Bott, F. (2014) Professional Issues in Information Technology. 2nd edn. Swindon: British Computer Society”.

Completion of this assignment will address the following learning outcomes:

1 Present a well-argued case demonstrating effective scholarship, personal communication, argument formation and influencing skills.

2 Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the global professional context, preparation for a professional career as a collaborative and reflective practitioner and attention to continuous professional development and learning.

3 Evaluate a range of research methods and techniques demonstrating an awareness of research ethics.

Task:

You are required to produce a 2000-word portfolio demonstrating your personal and professional skills. The portfolio will cover the following areas.

• Professional aspects.
• Communication and research skills.

Prepare your report in the following structure:

• Cover page
• Declaration statement
• Personal profile
• Table of contents
• Introduction
• Generic CV
• Tailored CV to job advertisement
• Your Skillset with supporting evidences or writeups
• Short survey results on key skills for IT professional in the future economy
• Career planning (and bridging the gaps between skill sets and (i) career goals and (ii) key skills identified from the short survey)
• Conclusion
•  References
• Appendices
