Learners will submit a 6-page (1,000-1,500 word) essay in response to the following question:
Based on the historical evolution of terrorism in Canada with the Toronto 18 etc., what opportunities are there in battling radicalization?
This assignment is designed to support reflection, integration and synthesis of course material. It is intended to emphasize the application of concepts and strategies introduced and discussed in the course, and to explore their application in your professional and/or community environments. Your essay should include:
- An introduction informing the reader what is being discussed, how the paper is organized and your key findings and recommendations;
- A literature review. Note that literature review findings should be included in the discussion portion of your analysis (i.e., citations woven throughout your paper to support your argument and analysis);
- An analysis of your findings (i.e., what was interesting and relevant);
- Your recommendations based on your findings; and
- A conclusion summarizing your paper and possible recommendations for future practice arising from your analysis.
- The paper must adhere to APA guidelines (see JIBC’s APA Citation Guide) and also include a title page. Please don’t exceed the required word count in the body of your essay. (As always, the title page, table of contents and references are not included in this count.)
