GBA01 Question
In your groups (of minimum 3, maximum 5 members), propose and design a digital product or community activity to encourage sustainable community engagement to ensure diversity and inclusivity as Singaporeβs social compact evolves.
1a) In your 1200-word proposal (maximum, including in-text citations, excluding references) for a digital product or community activity, you should:
- Explain and Identify (20 marks): Identify TWO sustainable development goals (SDGs) that Singapore is working to meet and explain with detailed examples why and how the identified SDGs are critical to sustaining Singaporeβs social compact. *This section must include a clear description of the groupβs understanding of sustainability in the context of Singaporeβs social compact. β’
- Examine and Discuss (30 marks): Read Walid Jumblatt Abdullahβs chapter βGovernment, Civil Society and the Social Compact in Singapore: Realities, Prospects, and Challenges Social Context, Policies, and Changes in Singaporeβ. Examine recent or current trends that could affect Singaporeβs social compact. Based on that examination, discuss and demonstrate the importance of community engagement in achieving positive results for the chosen SDGs in the context of Singaporeβs social compact.
1b) Develop a Digital Product or Community Activity Booklet
Using what you have proposed with the two sub-tasks, develop only ONE of the following products to encourage community engagement in meeting the objectives of the chosen SDGs and Singaporeβs social compact.
- 3 to 5mins informative video with subtitles (not included in word count)
- 3 to 5mins informative mini podcast (attach script or talking points as appendices; not included in word count)
- 4 to 8-page (exclude cover page) community activity booklet with diagrams, sketches or necessary illustrations or instructions. *Activities could include heritage trail, learning journey or similar etc. (brochure not included in word count)
- Β Mid-project deliverables of (1) Project Schedule, Tasks Allocation, and Screenshot of Group Chat (7 days after Seminar 1); 2) GBA progress update in seminar 3
