Question 1
Project Assignment
The goal of the Project is to test the design thinking theory and related creation and development skills for user experience design in the course MTD220. You need to consider the project as the playground to apply and exercise the principles of design stacks, UXD, and JS/HTML/CSS development knowledge that you learned through the course.
This question’s task is to design, wireframe, create, and develop a micro-site. The metrics of marks is described in the following Table 1 regarding this assignment.
Project Specifications
This ECA Project requires you to create a website for job application that introduces yourself, educational background, extra-curricular activities and personal interests. There should be a form for potential employers to contact you with the selection of available interview time slots. Perform your research on other websites with references and provide insights based on Jakob 10 Heuristics with examples of responsive web design (RWD). State the good aspects from their designs to learn and combine in your own website design. A THREE (3) page report should be submitted documenting the processes through conceptualising, designing and developing with the skills learned in the course and your personal experiences.
Your website must meet the following criteria:
1. Develop and implement your website with Bootstrap as framework.
2. Ensure the website consists of FOUR (4) pages in total.
- Homepage – leave a good first impression to attract your audience
- Sub-page 1 – demonstrate the implementation of design thinking in detail by creating your website as a practical case study
- Sub-page 2 – apply bootstrap skills to build up detailed content for your self-introduction with suitable and consistent styles
- Sub-page 3 – develop relevant content to illustrate your
HTML/CSS/JS skills, enhanced design thinking, and user experience in your website
3. Implement RWD to the following screen sizes which must be satisfied by all webpages:
a. <576px
b. ≥576px <992px
c. ≥992px
Your report (in Times – font size 12 with optional tables or charts) should cover the following areas:
i. Describe the target audience, goals, user flows and experience of your website.
ii. Provide insights on your understanding and process details of applying design thinking into the website design.
iii. Briefly explain the client-side technologies implemented in your website. Provide suggestions of potential server-side technologies to enhance your website without actual development.
iv. Appraise and analyse the differences of usability for each stated screen size to potential devices.
