Question 1

Recorded Video Presentation

For this practical assessment, you should prepare and submit an academic presentation that evaluates practices relating to corporate and social responsibility, and ethical behaviour in the Maritime Industry, and how these practices can impact environmental protection.

Before starting this practical coursework, you are encouraged to discuss it with your tutor, who will support you on its planning.

A. Abstract

Together with your presentation (detailed in the next point), you must submit an ’Abstract’ summarising your presentation. You should include in the abstract references to the articles and other resources used to build the presentation and include a reference list at the end (you should use the Harvard referencing style).

B. Recorded Video Presentation

As it will not be possible to present your work in person, you are asked to submit a recorded presentation. This can take any form that suits your IT expertise, e.g.:

• Narrated PowerPoint presentation
• Prezi or any other presentation software
• Raw Video (from your cell phone camera, webcam, or any other video recording device)
• Edited video with a combination of any media

Write a reflective essay discussing to what extent do management and leadership practices, found in your sector of the maritime industry, influence company strategies and operations.
