Case 1
a. Adam owns a 24-hour gym and had taken a sample of data from its customers’ swipe cards.
b. He is interested to find out the behavior of the customers including types of customers, which are the most popular classes, how long does each customer spends in the gym, and any other interesting facts that can be found from analysis of the data.
c. By knowing the customers’ behavior, he will be able to offer a better experience and perhaps optimize the usage of the gym and enhance his revenue.
d. How would you go about analyzing the data and advise him accordingly?
Case 2
a. Lucy owns a coffee shop and had recently collated some data about its employee’s and customers’ behavior patterns.
b. She is interested to improve the efficiency of her shop and also get more insight into her customers including time spent, most popular and least popular products and more.
c. By analyzing her staff and customers’ behavior, it is hoped that she can further reduce her costs by better allocation of labor and make her shop more attractive to customers.
d.As the business analyst, how would you go about analyzing the data and what recommendations would you offer to her?
