In the current work environment with leadership training and development budgets under significant pressure, organisations need to maximise their return on investment from their training and development spending. In order to do this, there is a need to better understand the roles and responsibilities of a leader as well as the impact of different leadership and management development activities.

a) Critically analyse the roles and responsibilities of a leader in the successful implementation of an organisation’s talent management and development strategy/ policy/philosophy in the context of Small Medium Enterprises (SME)s in Singapore.

b) Critically evaluate and provide arguments pertaining to two theories or models of succession planning in today’s business environment and how they can be applied in designing plans on succession planning for Small Medium Enterprises in Singapore
