Singaporeans continue to adjust and adapt to living with the Covid-19 pandemic. While travel and movement restrictions have largely been lifted, Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH) continues to remind people of the importance of getting vaccinated and getting their vaccination boosters as a means of countering any severe symptoms of any new Covid-19 infections.

Assume that you are the public relations officer for the MOH working to encourage vaccinated people to get their booster injections, and unvaccinated people to get vaccinated. Your work also involves using social media to generate publicity and raise awareness of the various vaccines made available by the MOH. You may use information from the MOH’s website for this assignment. You may also make up plausible information that you feel is relevant to your proposal.

• a) With reference to this scenario, review the function of media relations in the corporate communications mix and identify and analyze the likely areas of concern about the ongoing Covid-19 situation and vaccinations that the MOH will have to address as it manages the country’s approach to living with the pandemic.
• Propose an online media plan for the MOH to effectively reach the public to raise awareness of the benefits of vaccines in preventing serious illnesses from Covid-19 infections. This plan should also discuss and evaluate how the MOH can assure the public of the proven safety of the vaccines currently available, and gain public support for the ongoing vaccination program.
