Question 1

The Singapore Green Plan 2030 was launched in February 2021 as a whole-of-nation movement to advance Singapore’s national agenda on sustainable development. The Plan comprises five pillars – City in Nature, Sustainable Living, Energy Reset, Green Economy, and Resilient Future.

Your group is required to appraise the strengths and challenges of the Singapore Green Plan 2030 in terms of implementation and monitoring, balancing economic growth and environmental goals. You are also required to propose ways to engage the public and companies on the Green Plan.

Question 2

Now imagine that your group are founders of a sustainability-focused startup that is exploring the Singapore Green Plan for business ideas and opportunities. Formulate a business proposal that fits into one of the Green Plan’s five pillars and contributes to the relevant target/s. The proposal must include (but is not restricted to) the following components:

(a) What is the problem statement?
(b) What is the proposed solution?
(c) Who are the customers?
(d) What is the business model?
(e) What is the go-to-market strategy?
(f) How would ESG and commercial success be measured?
