Question 1

• Research has shown that positive emotions generally lead to positive consequences. The social purpose of Smart Health provides a shared bond between Jamie and Chris as they both have close elderly relatives who are suffering from health ailments. Appraise the role of positive emotions in the pending negotiation between Jamie and Chris and discuss three (3) possible consequences which may result.
• Due to the conflict between Smart Health’s social goals and its subsequent profitability and ROI, it will be in XYZ Capital’s interest to have the majority of the board seats. This will control how Smart Health makes financial decisions in the future including scaling down donations to the elderly. One option is for Chris to orally assure Jamie that Smart Health can continue to pursue its social mission even if XYZ Capital controls the board majority. Once the majority is in their hands, there is nothing Jamie can do even if Chris does not prioritize or pursue the social mission, until profitability is acceptable.
  Chris feels slightly uneasy initially but decides that making the oral assurance to Jamie is the right thing for him to do. Defend Chris’s decision using two (2) ethical frameworks. Support your answer with relevant examples.
• After his earlier rounds of negotiation, Jamie realizes that negotiation is both an art and a science. Assume you are Jamie, examine the ten (10) best practices of negotiation, and discuss how you would be guided by these practices to conduct a successful negotiation with Chris.

Prepare a video recording of you presenting any portion or part of your answer to Question 1 above. This presentation must be at least 3 minutes and must not exceed 6 minutes. There are two methods for ECA video assignment submission; either Record Media or Upload Media. For Upload Media, please note that your file size should be no more than 500MB and the format is .mp4.

Prepare a set of PowerPoint presentation slides upon which your video presentation in Section B is based. Please note that the PowerPoint must be converted to PDF before submission to Canvas.
