Question 1

Consider an organization that you have previously worked for or any organization that you are familiar with. Think about the role of a dashboard that could assist managers for effective data analysis and communication. Build such a dashboard on your own. Please attached a screenshot of the selected dashboard.

(a) Recommend the type of dashboard that you intend to build. Is it a strategic, tactical, or operational dashboard?

(b) Suppose you need to present your dashboard to the management team, discuss four (4) key benefits of the proposed dashboard.

(c) Identify two (2) important features of the dashboard (such as filter(s), chart selection, etc.) which you believe will help enhance the presentation of data.

You may use or change the Generic dataset (generic.xls) provided. Alternatively, you can use any publicly available data source (e.g., https://www.gapminder.org/data/) to construct the dashboard. Provide screenshots of the new chart and constructed dashboard in your report, and store the Tableau workbook into a single Tableau workbook file with extracted data named “student_number.tbwx”.

(a) Based on the selected organisation in Question 1, state the mission and vision of the organisation and list one (1) of its strategic objectives.

(b) Identify three (3) business performance measures that can help to achieve the strategic objective stated in 2(a) and discuss your rationale.

Question 3

The organisation that you have selected in Question 1 had collected free format customer feedback over the years and would like to do a text mining project to understand their customers better. Explain three (3) potential benefits of the project and outline five (5) technical issues that the organisation is likely to face with analysing textual data and identify possible solutions to overcome these issues
