The Assignment

Prepare a 750-word case study of your own to outline the problems in an intercultural- communication situation you have experienced. Identify and analyse the causes of the communication breakdown / differences by applying what you have learnt and discuss how various communication

strategies may be tapped into to help achieve better understanding in the future. Your report should include:

1. The intercultural communication situation as experienced first hand.
2. An identification and analysis of the causes for the underlying behaviour (verbal and non-verbal).
3. A discussion of how the theories you have learnt will help you to be more aware and thus adjust your own communication in future.

Coursework Two (LO3)

The Assignment

Write a 750-word self-reflective journal presenting your own challenges in recognising personal/professional weakness and how it may have hampered your personal and or professional development. You should identify at least 2 weaknesses, and develop a corresponding SMART (Specific, Measureable, Achievement, Realistic and Time-bound) action plan to address these weaknesses.

In presenting this journal, you must include the following theories:

1. Johari’s Window or Myer Brigg’s MBTI model or Cattel’s traits in the introduction of yourself.
2. SWOT model in identifying your strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats
3. The SMART model as applied to solve your weaknesses
