Case 1

A supply chain company is evaluating if its warehouse management system needs to be enhanced. Management has determined that if the average order fulfillment time exceeds 120 minutes, its warehouse management system needs enhancement.

To measure the average order fulfillment time, a study was commissioned. Determine if the warehouse management system (WMS) needs to be enhanced with a hypothesis test at a 5% significance level. The data collected from a random sample of orders is shown in a table in Appendix 1.

Case 2

A contact center of a company had just completed an outbound telesales campaign. The average sales target set by management was $1,800 per customer. The contact center manager convened a study to determine if the average actual sales generated from the campaign fell short of the target. if the average sales did not meet the target, corrective actions will be undertaken.

Determine if average actual sales generated from the campaign fell short of the target at 2.5% significance level. The data collected from a random sample of sales generated from the campaign is shown in a table in Appendix 1.
