EBP Appraising Methodological Quality and Bias in Randomized Controlled Trials (RCT), Singapore

Assignment requirement

1) Students are required to critically appraise the article using JBI CRITICAL APPRAISAL CHECKLIST FOR RANDOMIZED CONTROLLED TRIALS.

2)The following criteria should be included in your written assignment (Refer to the assignment rubrics for more details): –

• Purpose of the critical appraisal.
• Critical appraisal of methodological quality.
• Appraise & determine the extent to which the paper has addressed the possibility of bias in its design, conduct and analysis.
• Identifies strengths / limitations (weaknesses) of the appraised article in relation to its methodological quality.
• Include/ exclude/ or seek further information before deciding to include the paper for synthesis. Accuracy and explicit justification.
• Applicability.

2) Provide at least nine (9) references to support your assertions and claims. Reference articles on research studies must be related to current/contemporary studies (year 2014 to 2024) unless the studies are seminal/landmark studies.
