1) PowerPoint slides:
The GBA itself must contain the Introduction, Method, Results, and Discussion sections of your research study as in a standard APA report. In the Introduction, evaluate the existing literature on the cognitive approach to personality, focusing on theoretical concepts that influence how we construe and perceive ourselves. As the objectives and hypothesis/hypotheses of the study should be clearly stated in this section, the group must already have an idea of what variables the research is examining in order to perform a coherent literature review.
In the Methods section, provide information about the participants, variables, procedure, and proposed data analysis. Any reasonable variable(s), supported by a comprehensive and credible literature review, may be utilized to explore the study’s key question. Note that inferential statistics, such as t-tests, are not required for this GBA. Focus on relevant descriptive statistics (e.g., bar charts) to explore and review your data.
In the Results section, state the findings from your research and clearly state how they relate to your experimental hypothesis/hypotheses.
In the Discussion section, examine whether your hypothesis/hypotheses were (were) supported, using research evidence to discuss your claims. Also, state the limitations and implications of your research in this section.
All information should be clearly presented on PowerPoint slides, with a maximum of 20 slides for this group presentation. In-text citations and references must be provided in APA format.

2) Video recording:
The second requirement of the GBA is a graded recorded presentation by the group that provides an overview of the research study, detailing the objectives, hypothesis/hypotheses, method, results, and implications, and limitations of the study. All group members must take part in the group presentation.
Each group member should contribute equally to the GBA. 70 marks will be awarded for the content of the group research project and 10 marks will be awarded based on the individual’s presentation skills.

You will be put into groups consisting of 3 to 4 members for this assignment. Group allocations will be available on Canvas within the T-group.
Within your assigned team, please work together to establish how to discuss the conceptualization of the research and how to divide the work.
As a group, determine the exact focus of your research project and develop a detailed experimental hypothesis (or more than one hypothesis, if suitable for your study design), and propose how you want to conduct your research.
All research will be conducted online. The presentation should include a brief discussion of your group’s
hypothesis/hypothesis or expectations of the short experiment based on existing literature.
To get started, you may wish to refer to chapters on the cognitive approach in your textbook (Chapters 15 and 16, Burger, 2019) for relevant theoretical knowledge.
However, this will be insufficient as the information in the textbook is limited and also will unlikely touch on this exact subject matter.
Reading widely beyond the textbook will add depth to your introduction and discussion, and references to additional relevant research studies and examples will attract more marks. There is an abundance of credible resources that you can access from the library and databases.
