Part 1 – Leadership Qualities
State THREE (3) leadership qualities that you would consider most essential for every small group leader to possess. Discuss how you view yourself in each of these three aspects, as well as show how you think you could go about further developing yourself in them.
Part 2 – Leadership Style
Examine your personal preferences in each of these areas: (a) Leader- vs member centredness; (b) High- vs low- degree of structure; (c) Solo- vs co-leadership. For each of these three areas, describe and explain your preference. In your discussions, give due consideration to the potential benefits and limitations of each preference.
Part 3 – Leadership Comfort
Think about each of the following group leadership responsibilities: (a) Dealing with group silence and passivity; (b) Challenging unhealthy group norms; (c) Dealing with member-to-member conflict; (d) Dealing with strong groupthink.
For these four responsibilities, discuss your level of comfort with each of them. For those that you feel less comfortable with, describe and explain how you think you might go about developing more confidence in them
