In this question, you are to research on an existing leader of a (business, government, or not-for-profit) organization. It could be the CEO of an international organisation whom you have read about in the newspapers/ biographies or a leader who runs a country or SME. The choice of leader and organization is yours.

The main crux of this question is the following:

Using relevant leadership theories and models, critically evaluate and analyse the leadership of this leader.

In your report, please ensure that you do the following:

• Describe clearly the leader, organization/ industry, situation/context
• Examine and evaluate the leader’s leadership style and its impact on employees and organizational activities
• Appraise the leader’s leadership style and his/ her impact on organizations
• Discuss how you would lead differently if you were put in the same situation as the leader and how you could make a stronger impact on the followers and on the situation(s).

In this question, you are to craft your own leadership philosophy.

A leadership philosophy is your personal vision of how you want to be as a leader. Crafting a good leadership philosophy involves you having a good grasp of your own beliefs, values, principles in addition to knowing your own personality type, and values and weaknesses. Having a leadership philosophy is important as it can serve as a guide should you ever face challenges in your leadership journey. It can also help you find ways to develop yourself into a leader you aspire to be.

Write your leadership philosophy referencing the metaphor you have selected, incorporating the knowledge you have of yourself. In your leadership philosophy, you can cover the following questions:

1. Who am I as a person? What are my values?
2. How does my image represent the kind of leader I want to be?
3. What would I do to enable myself to be the kind of leader I want to be
4. At the same time, design a strategy or plan to enhance your own leadership performance.
