Assignment Overview:

This assignment asks you to produce HR Advice for an organization of your choosing. The HR advice will summarise the academic literature on performance management or a performance appraisal issue for a senior departmental manager.

You should assume that the senior manager is experienced but is NOT an HR manager, as such you should be mindful of using unfamiliar terms. You might think of the HR Advice as a How-to-Guide that is based on academic literature. To do this, you will research contemporary performance management or appraisal issue (see list below) using academic literature.

The advice should be presented in the following format

1. Topic – Clearly state the topic of HR Advice
2. Issued From – The person/department issuing the advice
3. Issued To – The person/department targeted in the advice
4. Context – The reason or the situation that necessitated this advice
5. The Advice – The main body of the advice supported by academic literature
6. Action to be Taken – Any specific action or activity to be taken up as a result of this advice
7. Conclusion
8. References
