The CD Pharmaceutical Ltd Consists of a Main Building Which will be Converted: Electronic Security Assignment, NUS, Singapore

Security Project Assignment:

1. The CD Pharmaceutical Ltd consists of a Main Building which will be converted into a Research Lab and Storage Area for Pharmaceutical products (consisting of controlled drugs). The Main Building consists of two (2) levels – 1st and 2nd storey.

2. Controlled drugs are delivered to various private hospitals in Singapore.

3. The appointed Architect has redesigned the 2 story building based on the following configuration.

• 1st storey consists of a reception counter, research lab, security control room, and storage area.
• 2nd storey consists of Office Area. The facility will operate from 0900-1800hrs and closed during Sundays. The facility is manned 24 hrs.

4. The Architectural design/layout for the building has been confirmed by the client with the following physical measures and manpower deployment.

• Welded Mesh Perimeter Fence.
• A sliding gate provided at the main entrance.
• Three security guards (one at the guardhouse and two at security control room)

5. As the appointed security consultant, you are required to design the security measures based on the Architect’s new layout.

6. All personnel to enter into the storage area via the mantrap door.

7. A risk assessment has been conducted by the Client based on the following:

• identified threats an Internal Threat – Internal Theft, Arson, Sabotage, Vandalism, Cyber Security, and internal espionage.
• External Threat – Intrusion, Burglary, Arson, Sabotage, Vandalism, Cyber Security, and industrial espionage.
• High-Level Threats – Letter and Parcel Bomb.
• Based on the risk assessment conducted, a Risk Factor of ‘Medium’ has been identified.

8. Based on the risk assessment conducted, the security report shall include the following:

• Security Concept Plan inclusive of the recommended mitigation measures
• Detailed security system design (External & Internal intrusion, CCTV, Access Control system &, etc…)
• Location of all proposed security system devices. d Block diagram for the proposed security measure
