Reflect on your own journey through puberty, the transition from primary to secondary school, and beyond. Recall your changing relationship with your parents (or guardians) and the people around you. Here are some guiding questions that might help your reflection: Was it a period of “storm and stress,” or was it fairly smooth sailing?

What parenting style did your parents (or guardians) use when you were a child? Did they modify it when you reached adolescence at different points of your adolescent period? What were some of the most difficult/challenging experiences you had as a teenager? What were the most significant experiences or memories you had as a teenager?

Did you engage in risky or dangerous behavior? What do you think could have (or have) prevented you from doing so? What do you think were the most critical influences on how you eventually came out of the adolescence period?
