Substitute 1: Ferrero Rocher has been all-time favorite chocolate. The Ferrero Rocher company decided to substitute their milk chocolate coatings and hazelnut coating with something else which is when they came up with the Ferrero Raffaello Chocolate. Yes, it does not have the same amazingness that the Rocher has but yet, the coconut flakes with the white chocolate and the almond nut is actually quite amazing.

Substitute 2: They also came up with another substitution for their original product that is their Ferrero Rondnoir. It was substituted with rich dark chocolate and their Cocoa Cream Pearls. They substituted the milk chocolate and hazelnut with the amazing rich dark chocolate and cocoa cream pearls.

Modify 1: They have modified the Ferrero Rocher chocolates into the Ferrero Raffaello Chocolate. The Ferrero Raffaello is modified with white chocolate, the almond nut, and coconut flakes which still had the same round biscuit that divides the white chocolate and coconut flakes and the white chocolate with the almond nut.

Modify 2: The other modification that was done to the original Ferrero Rocher was dark chocolate called Ferrero Rondnoir. They have removed the hazelnut and the coconut coating and modified it into Cocoa Cream Pearls.

In this assignment, you will be using two idea generation techniques to help you improve your level of happiness.

Part A: SCAMPER

Use letters ‘S’, “M” and “E’ from SCAMPER (see Topic 4) to generate ideas for improving your happiness.

Don’t use the other letters (C, A, P, and R).

Note you should not restrict yourself to just a couple of ideas for each letter. How you express your ideas is up to you e.g. you can describe them in words or illustrate them. The main requirement is that it is clear to the marker what the idea is.

Part B: Forced connections to improve your happiness

Divergent thinking. Consider the battery in the image below. Use this image of a battery to prompt you to generate ideas for how you can improve your happiness. That is, think of the attributes of the battery image or other associations you might have surrounding batteries, no matter how tenuous, to come up with ideas.

When answering this question. First clearly state the attribute/association then state the idea that comes from that attribute.

Note you should not restrict yourself to just a couple of ideas.

Help the marker, by being clear what the idea is.

Marking guide: Have a wide range of interesting ideas been developed? Have a wide range of associations been identified? Are there (many) ideas new or novel, surprising – beyond the obvious?

Part C:

Based on your ideas from Part A and B make a recommendation on what you think is the best new idea, and explain why you think so? Expand on the idea. Explain why other ideas were not considered. (~400 words)

1. You are not expected to be an expert (e.g. in genetics, psychology, or electrochemistry).
2. You can choose to be absurd or practical. It is the idea generation that is important
