Outline of the work tasks:
(i). Conduct a survey of at least 50 participants per group (the larger the sample the better) using any social networking media platform (e.g. Facebook, Whatsapp, Wechat) or survey instrument. Your group will assemble the results of the survey and analyze them in tables or graphs.
(ii). Use Hofstede’s model to explain cultural differences in trust and communication between the USA and your survey.
(iii). Compare your results to the report in the 2018 American Institutional Confidence Poll. Baker Center McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University, Washington, D.C. But also add analysis for example, if the confidence levels are different by gender, age, and nationality.
(iv). The paper must consult with at least 3-5 academic articles (books, book chapters, journal articles that are found in the following UB databases: Jstor, Sciencedirect, and BusinessSourceComplete). Articles from magazines, websites, and online organizations will NOT be counted as part of the 10 academic articles. Some media are reputable: New York Times, Washington Post, the Economist, Wall Street Journal and Bloomberg. But they will not be
counted as an academic article.
(v). The paper should be between 2500-3000 words. It must have a title, students’ names (last name, first name), Introduction, literature review, data description, analysis, and conclusion. The literature review will summarize academic articles on trust, prevailing findings on trust associated with online providers and formal institutions (e.g. government), and Hofstede’s approach to trust in cultural contexts.
(vi). Be aware that assertions must be supported by either an authoritative source (including papers you have read in (iv)) or statistics.
