The use of rivets on aircraft structural parts is very common and it is critical to understand how a rivet can be installed properly and removed safely when necessary.

With reference to the basic knowledge acquired in Chapter 3: Riveting, carry out a research and write a report on the technique of removing a solid rivet using appropriate tools. Include any illustrations where appropriate.

Your report should focus on (but not limited to) the following points:

• What are some of the cautions to take note of when removing a solid rivet?
• What are the safety requirements involved during the removal?
• How to remove a solid rivet properly using the appropriate tools?
