Discuss How the Procurement and Purchasing Management Practices: Purchasing Management Assignment, SIPMM, Singapore

Using your own organization or one with which you are familiar; discuss how the procurement and purchasing management practices/models can contribute towards becoming more competitive. Guidelines for the written assignment:

1.Introduction to the selected project

• Provide a very brief description of the organization and its product(s) or services. Examine and describe the “as is” situation in the chosen area of Procurement and Purchasing Management (10%).

2. Analysis of the Project

• Research and critically assess (not simply a ‘passive’ description) the application/practice of the chosen procurement and purchasing management area in the organization in the context of the relevant course concepts.
• You should not spend too many words describing the theory you use (referencing it is sufficient), but devote most of the effort to applying the theory to the information you have obtained about the project.

3. Conclusions and Recommendations

• Write a brief report for the senior management team on

(a) the findings and conclusions of your research;

(b) your recommendations for improving your selected area of procurement and purchasing management; and

(c) the potential benefits for the organization.

Make sure you evaluate your recommendations and are linked to your analysis.
