Counselling methods allows practitioners to consider the different applications to help client solve their issues.

Select one of the counselling therapies taught in this module that you might adopt for your future practice.

Part 1 (1500 words)

• Describe and explain one key concept, one therapeutic goal, one technique from the selected therapy.
• Anlayse and evaluate the strengths and limitations of the selected therapy. Give examples to support your claim.

Part 2 (500 words)

Reflection on the selected approach. You are to reflect based on the following questions:

• Does the profiling of clients that is implied within the selected therapy fit with my preferred way of thinking about clients?
• Is the sort of therapeutic process (interaction with Client) that the selected therapy emphasises, also the sort of exchanges (conversation) that I would want to have with the client?
• To what extent does the selected therapy fit with my personal ethos/values/philosophy? (One of helpful ways might be to ask yourself if you would also apply this therapy on yourself)
