Couple Counselling – Meta-Analysis Studies

Q1 Conduct a comprehensive literature review of SIX (6) meta-studies of the impacts of globalization on marriages and families in Asia (publications from year 2000 onwards) Present and discuss FIVE (5) major emerging trends in marriages and families in Asia as a result of globalization. The trends must be relevant to couple counselling.

Eg, Due to globalization there is an increase of inter-ethnicity marriages trending. Hence, in couple counselling, the counsellors must be wary of the differences between the couple. The counsellor should be culturally sensitive due to the rising trend of the mixed ethnic group of marriages. This will allow the counsellor to be able to understand the different perspectives of the couples.

Q2 Discuss FIVE (5) potential challenges couple counsellors face, based on the couple dynamics in response to the trends identified in Question 1. Support your arguments with relevant literature and observations. (40 marks) Please include at least 8-10 references.
