Design engineers often perform checks on members using Excel spreadsheets and it is a useful skill set if young engineers are able to write their own design spreadsheets. In this project, you will be tasked to write a spreadsheet to perform checks on beam-column.
Task
You are required to perform buckling resistance checks on the member using BOTH Annex A and Annex B of the Eurocode to compute the interaction factors. You can assume that the member is pin‐connected at both ends and there is no lateral/torsional restraint between the two ends of the 8.0m long member. The steel grade used is S355 and the section used is a hot‐finished square hollow section.
