After the completion of this project, learners will be able to:
- Explain the regulations and requirements for transportation and disposal of hazardous materials with reference to the shippers’ responsibilities and liabilities in such instances.
- Analyse the responsibilities and obligations of the various stakeholders when importing goods into Singapore.
- Recommend strategies to minimize supply chain and e-commerce risks with reference to potential threats and relevant regulations.

- Learners are to perform desktop research for this assignment.

- Each learner will submit a report covering the following areas:
- Explain the benefits and drawbacks of growing e-commerce industry to the global economy.
- Analyse the impacts of cross-border e-commerce on (1) customs import operations; (2) supply chain security; and (3) dangerous goods handling.
- Recommend relevant countermeasures for stakeholders (e.g., Singapore Customs, importers, or freight forwarders) to take in order to cope with the impacts on customs import operations; supply chain security; and dangerous goods handling.
Report
A written report of between 1,800 to 2,000 words excluding appendices with Arial Font size 12 with double spacing must be submitted by each learner. The project report should consist of the following parts:
- Cover Page – Include a cover page with the project title, name, and admission numbers of project members.
- Introduction – Introduction for the report including background information about the e-commerce industry.
- Main – This will cover the key areas mentioned in Section 3, Points 4a and 4b as stated above.
- Conclusion and Recommendations – Summarise the key findings of the report and provide recommendations as stated above in Section 3, Point (4c).
- Appendices – Sources of internet research data, reference texts & publications, and any other supporting information.
