A large company in Singapore is sending two (2) expatriates (each with family ie on accompanied terms) to Europe; namely London & Moscow. The HR department is aware that such international assignments, however, come with challenges.

In the context of the above setting, what are the issues you as the HR Manager will have to consider when preparing and conditioning these two expatriates (and family members with children) for assignments to London and Moscow respectively?

After the expatriate (and family) from Moscow, had almost completed the required 2-year assignment, they had to be extended for another 2 years. What would be some of the issues faced by the expatriate immediately (upon extension) and the issues to be faced after 4 years away from home country?
