Part 1 – Network Design, Implementation and Troubleshooting (40%)
Network Design Requirements:
a. 18 employees in the R&D group.
b. 9 employees in the S&M group.
c. 8 employees in the FIN group
d. 7 employees in the ADMIN group.
e. 5 employees in the Sales Branch Office.
f. Lifetime max of 5 Servers on separate subnet, regardless of company growth.
g. Use subnet 200.200.100.0/30 for connection to ISP Router.
h. Use C Class network 192.168.x.0 for internal IP addressing,
where letter x is your class index number.
i. You may use VLSM for IP Address planning.
j. Expect 100% growth of current IP requirements when determining the size of the subnets.
k. Each networking device is to be given an IP address

Basic Network Feature Requirements:
a. Enable Inter-VLAN routing at the Main Building.
VLAN 10 – R&D
VLAN 20 – S&M
VLAN 30 – Server Farm
VLAN 88 – Management
b. 4 Research personnel and 3 Sales personnel are on Floor 1.
6 Research personnel and 4 Sales personnel are on Floor 2.
8 Research personnel and 2 Sales personnel are on Floor 3.
c. Turn on Link Aggregation feature for the links connecting the 3 switches at the Main Building. Use only Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP) for your Ether Channels.
d. The 5 Servers are all located at Level 1 of the Main Building
e. IP addresses of end users or hosts will be obtained via DHCP service.
f. IP addresses of Servers will be statically assigned.
g. Configure one of the Servers to be the NTP server. Synchronize the date and time of network devices (R1-R5 & S1-S3) to the NTP server.
h. Backup the final running configuration of all routers and switches to the TFTP server.
Use the following filename format:
_Rn_running_config.txt
_Sn_running_config.txt
i. Only configure SVIs for the switches at the Main Building. Only include these 3 switches are placed in the Management VLAN 88 subnet.
j. The gateway router, R1, connecting to the Internet is located at the Main Building.
k. Use OSPF as the routing protocol for the network.
l. Use OSPF Process ID 10.
m. All routers are assigned to a single Area 0.
n. Use the following format for router IDs: Rn – n.n.n.n
Example: router ID for R1 – 1.1.1.1 and R2 – 2.2.2.2
- R3 is the Designated Router (DR) and R5 is the Backup Designated Router (BDR) at the multi-access network of the Eccles Building.
p. R4 is the router directly connected the FIN subnet, while R5 is the router directly connected to the ADMIN subnet.
q. Use Lo0 to represent the Internet Server at the ISP router. Lo0: 150.13.2.1 /24
r. Configure only SSH remote access for all routers and switches.
s. Configure PAT at the gateway router to allow all hosts to access the Internet Server.
t. Use standard ACL to secure SSH remote access all the routers and switches.
Allowing only hosts from Admin Group to access the routers and switches.
