You work for a medium-large maintenance company that provides both emergency and regular maintenance support to commercial and residential properties. As the work includes emergency provision there is the staff who work shifts across 24hours. Complaints have been raised about the amount of ill health caused by working shifts by all levels of employees. The Safety, Health, and Wellbeing committee are revising an ineffective Health and Wellbeing Strategy and have asked you to produce a report about the potential ill health effects of shift working and what can be done to mitigate the ill health issues.
