1 ) Project Overview

You are a data analyst working on a project to enhance food sustainability practices and optimize the operations of FoodXervices Inc Singapore. Your task is to explore and analyse a dataset containing sales transactions from the year 2022 to derive data-backed answers to questions that FoodXervices’ management might have regarding the business and its performance.

Through careful analysis, you will identify patterns and trends within the data, which will enable you to develop actionable strategies that align with the company’s business objectives.

Scope:

• Conduct comprehensive data analysis using Power BI.
• Create insightful visualisations to represent your findings.
• Utilise skills in data cleaning, manipulation, exploratory data analysis (EDA), and statistical analysis.
• Clarity of explanations, ability to derive business insights, and quality of the final report or dashboard.
• External datasets can be introduced to supplement existing findings where appropriate, enhancing the depth and relevance of the analysis.

The project is divided into 2 Sections:

(A)Learning Journey, where you will meet key management to:

a). gain a deeper understanding of the business, which will assist in framing your main problem statement / business question and sub-questions more effectively.

b). identify potential additional data that you could use to enrich and support your analysis.

(B)Dashboarding and Reporting, where you will be assessed on the following:

a). Data Cleaning and Preparation

i.Apply appropriate data cleaning methods to ensure the data is accurate, complete, and ready for analysis.

b). Formulating Analytical Questions

i.Develop meaningful, interesting, and original main and sub-questions that will guide your analysis.

ii. Ensure the questions are aligned with business objectives and data capabilities.

iii. Innovative and insightful questions will be rewarded.

c). Data Visualisation

i. Utilise the chosen data visualisation tool creatively and effectively.

ii.Build useful and meaningful visualisations, including custom visuals, matrices, maps, and KPIs.

iii.Ensure the visualisations clearly communicate the analysis results and support the analytical questions posed.

d) Reporting and Interpretation

i.Provide a clear and comprehensive explanation of your analysis results.

ii.Interpret the results in business terms, deriving new business insights from the data.

iii.Demonstrate the ability to use the analysis to make informed business decisions.

iv.Present your findings in a well-structured report or interactive dashboard.
