Delicious Foods Limited is an established food business that has been operating for approximately 20 years. The company manufactures and distributes meat products to over 52 customers each week across the UK.
The company employs 23 full time staff and calls on local recruitment agency staff, as and when required. Mr. Jones, the owner of Delicious Foods Limited possesses food-related qualifications, however, by his own admission relies on Miss Jane Jenkins the HR/Health and Safety Manager to sort out the health and safety side of things. The attitude of the company is a very relaxed one with respect to health and safety with Mr. Jones being quoted as saying ‘Food safety is the most important aspect of our business – health and safety can look after itself.

At a recent school governors’ meeting Miss Jenkins was asked if she would consider taking on two school-aged children for a workplace-based placement.
